I am guessing that this kind of behavior is not worthy of another term.
Toplikar’s opponent’s wife was able to catch JT rearranging political signs and even removing a couple of his opponents. As absolutly effin’ funny as this is, I would have to say it is probably wrong. John was cited by the Olathe police for misdemeanor theft for taking the signs from in front of the Johnson County Election office on Sat. 10-25-08.

Why is it acceptable for a concert experience to be a horrible one? Promoters and the people that run venues should be taken out back and …
Went to Jack Johnson last night. I do not see myself ever returning to Sandstone, Sandphone, Cap Fed Park or whatever they call it this year until I hear they made some changes.
Let’s start with the parking. So they are on the bandwagon like everyone else trying to be GREEN. So if you carpooled, 4+, then they take you up front parking. Cool, but of course, I am thinking, how will I get out of here. Hold that thought.
Walked right in, because they parked us close to the gate, grabbed a spot in the lawn and went to get a beer. 16oz is $5.00, but get this, a 24 oz is $8. Too bad for the people who can’t do math. Of course with beer comes bathrooms. Are you effing kidding me. The women’s line was 100 yds + long, the guys half that. But the guys wasn’t because of order let me tell you. Jackass after jackass walking in the EXIT was to explain the guys line. By the end of the night, there were lines at both ends. And of course all of the toilets were backed up. How about a one-way turnstile?
Coming to the end of the show, ever try to herd 4 couples to leave? Better off herding cats. So didn’t get out early. Remember the whole green parking initiative? How about all the people that helped us park. Do you think they are anywhere around to provide order to an exit? No. After an HOUR of not even moving 1 inch… My cousin and I got out and started directing traffic. People are too self-centered to realize that if they might let someone in front of them here and there then we can ALL move and go home. So we actually stood in front of cars, not moving mind you, and directed the mess in front of us so we could go. Well, hot damn, we moved. If you need people to aid in the parking, then why would you not need them to get out?
So much for being GREEN. Glad everyone is so fooled. Think about this, the cars that carry 4+ people are more commonly then not, a gas guzzler. Those are what were idling in the parking lot for 90 min trying to get out of the GREEN parking area. Idiots.
What needs to change?
1. Add some damn bathrooms. A 100 yrd line is absourd.
2. Put a one-way turnstile on the exit of the bathrooms.
3. Keep the parking attendants for the exit.
Pretty simple things. But the things that keep the civilized citizens away.
Take your live shows and stick them up your a.. I guess I am officially old if I no longer wish to wait 20 min to piss in a shit covered bathroom. I have a 92″ in HD and a recorded live show every Sunday night on HDNET. I’ll keep my $43 for GA. Don’t get me started on that. I blindly accept that because I believe that some of that money might make it to the artist.
Promoters, I promise I am not the only one with this attitude toward your venue. Think about it.
In an effort to battle the porn spammers on the KCLinks Forums, we have just upgraded to the latest version of PHPBB. Hopefully this will be enough to tackle this task a bit. Those forums were getting to be enough to make Bob Guccioni blush.
So we will give this a try, and please, add to the forums but keep it PG.
Memorial Day weekend is among us and I can’t afford to drive anywhere, so I played in a foursome tournament yesterday. I am not going to say where, but I love the course. However, what is a guy to do when he has to go…once upon a time this course was surrounded by trees. It wasn’t a big deal to find a place. Now it is nothing but homes…agh. Point…if you are going to build a golf course, include bathrooms.
Too find more info about Kansas City courses, I suggest using Last Minute Golfer or KCMetroGolf. Both sites have deals on tee times for many of the local courses.
Well, I made the trek to KC Live at the KC Power and Light District this weekend. Pretty Fresh. I call it that because everything is still new and hasn’t been beaten up yet. The toilets still work and I could sit on a wall and not sit IN something.
There was a band playing, that reminded me of LIVE, maybe before they became famous. I spoke to a few other goers and even bought a few beers for some strangers.
We stayed on the plaza, walked to Westport, and took a cab to KCPL. I was surprised it was $11 for a cab from Westport to KCPL, but then again, I haven’t been in a cab in KC for years. Not too many of them around where I come from.
I will be back and keep going as long as it was like it was this past weekend. What do I mean? Seemingly Crime-Free and Clean.
Seriously. I have checked for them coming to KC for years. You can count me in.
There are a few options to see them.
1.) Headliners May 23rd at the Beaumont Club in Westport. Ticks are $26.
2.) Headlining The Jiggle Jam Family Fest at Crown Center on Memorial Day Weekend.
Don’t Let’s Start, I will be at the Beaumont with Ana NG, my Lucky Ball and Chain, and Your Racist Friend wearing my Purple Toupee spending my Minimum Wage pay to see They Might Be Giants. I plan on Twisting while Whistling in the Dark as long as Someone Keeps Moving my Chair. Hot Cha!
—UPDATE—
TMBG at the Beaumont still has tickets available. If you can’t make it to that, try to see them at Jiggle Jam at Crown Center on Sat. Fun for the family.
Word has near 200 homes and business were damaged in last night’s rampage. Momma Nature had something to say, and was most vigilant at around 2 am. Of course storms also mean we get to watch a Jerry Lewis marathon of Katie Horner telling us to take cover because of clouds forming over Oklahoma City.
I happened to be in Spring Hill when the first round came through. We were eating dinner at a friend’s when the sirens sounded. Of course, we took shelter in the driveway to find out why. Continued to watch for around an hour as the sirens repeated their song every 8 min. I am beginning to think of a story told as a youth, but I don’t remember much about it…something about sheep and a wolf…
I had heard they evacuated the dorms at UMKC on the news. I think it was Katie saying that if you are one evacuted, there is no reason for it…meaning you are too late for the evacuation and the storm has passed. Why is everyone so amped to run for cover? Because no one will watch the news if they say, “We’re going to see pea size hail and few raindrops with some stronger than normal winds.” I am personally tired of watching the entire metro be told to take cover for the month of May. There are times to worry, but making everyone worry everytime is not good for anyone.
